Ferro Molybdenum
Ferro Molybdenum (FeMo) is a ferroalloy composed of molybdenum (Mo) and iron (Fe). It is widely used as an alloying agent in steel and cast iron production, enhancing strength, hardness, wear resistance, and corrosion resistance.
Chemical Composition:
✅ Molybdenum (Mo): 60-75% (varies by grade)
✅ Carbon (C): ≤ 0.1%
✅ Silicon (Si): ≤ 1.5%
✅ Sulfur (S): ≤ 0.08%
✅ Phosphorus (P): ≤ 0.05%
✅ Copper (Cu): ≤ 0.5%
✅ Iron (Fe): Balance
Key Features:
✅ Improves Strength & Hardness: Essential for high-strength and wear-resistant steels.
✅ Enhances Corrosion & Heat Resistance: Used in stainless steels and high-temperature alloys.
✅ Reduces Brittleness: Prevents grain growth in steel, improving toughness.
✅ Available in Various Sizes: Supplied as lumps, granules, or powder.
Applications:
✅ Steel Industry: Used in high-strength low-alloy (HSLA) steel, stainless steel, and tool steels.
✅ Aerospace & Automotive Industry: Improves high-temperature strength and wear resistance.
✅ Cast Iron & Foundry Applications: Enhances machinability and durability.
✅ Superalloys & Welding Electrodes: Used in heat-resistant and high-performance alloys.
