Ferro Niobium
Ferro Niobium (FeNb) is a ferroalloy composed of niobium (Nb) and iron (Fe).
It is widely used as an alloying element in the steel and superalloy
industries to enhance strength, toughness, corrosion resistance, and
high-temperature performance.
Chemical Composition:
✅ Niobium (Nb): 60-70%
✅ Iron (Fe): Balance
✅ Silicon (Si): ≤ 2%
✅ Aluminium (Al): ≤ 1.5%
✅ Sulfur (S): ≤ 0.03%
✅ Phosphorus (P): ≤ 0.05%
✅ Titanium (Ti): ≤ 0.5%
Key Features:
✅ Increases Strength & Toughness: Used in high-strength low-alloy (HSLA)
steels.
✅ Enhances Corrosion & Heat Resistance: Essential for stainless steels
and superalloys.
✅ Refines Grain Structure: Improves weldability and durability in
structural applications.
✅ Available in Various Sizes: Typically 10-50mm lumps, granules, or
powder form.
Applications:
✅ Steel Industry: Used in pipeline, automotive, and structural steels.
✅ Superalloys & Aerospace: Enhances heat and corrosion resistance in
high-performance alloys.
✅ Foundry & Casting: Improves casting properties and wear resistance.
✅ Welding Electrodes: Used in special welding applications.
