Ferro Sulphur
Ferro Sulphur is an iron-sulfur alloy primarily used in steelmaking and
foundries to introduce sulfur into molten metal. It enhances machinability
and improves certain mechanical properties in cast iron and steel.
Chemical Composition:
✅ Iron (Fe): 50-60%
✅ Sulfur (S): 30-40%
✅ Carbon (C): < 0.05%
✅ Silicon (Si): < 0.5%
Key Features:
✅ High Sulfur Content – Provides controlled sulfur addition to alloys.
✅ Enhances Machinability – Improves chip formation in cutting and
machining processes.
✅ Improves Graphitization – Helps in the formation of graphite in cast
iron.
✅ Non-Magnetic & Brittle – Due to high sulfur content.
