Ferro silicon calcium
Ferro Silicon Calcium (CaSi) is a ferroalloy composed of calcium (Ca),
silicon (Si), and iron (Fe). It is widely used as a deoxidizer,
desulfurizer, and alloying agent in steelmaking and foundries. The addition
of calcium improves steel quality by removing impurities like oxygen,
sulfur, and phosphorus, while silicon enhances strength and corrosion
resistance.
Chemical Composition:
✅ Calcium (Ca): 24-30%
✅ Silicon (Si): 55-65%
✅ Iron (Fe): Balance
✅ Carbon (C): ≤ 0.1%
✅ Sulfur (S): ≤ 0.03%
✅ Phosphorus (P): ≤ 0.03%
Key Features:
✅ Excellent Deoxidizer & Desulfurizer: Removes unwanted impurities from
steel and iron.
✅ Improves Steel Quality: Reduces inclusions, improving machinability
and surface quality.
✅ Enhances Alloy Properties: Increases hardness, corrosion resistance,
and weldability.
✅ Available in Various Sizes: Supplied as lumps, granules, or powder.
Applications:
✅ Steel & Foundry Industry: Used in low-carbon and high-strength steels.
✅ Cast Iron Production: Improves mechanical properties and removes
sulfur.
✅ Welding Electrode Manufacturing: Enhances weldability and arc
stability.
✅ Specialty Alloys & Ductile Iron: Used in the production of magnesium
ferrosilicon alloys.
