Ferro silicon zirconium
Ferro Silicon Zirconium (FeSiZr) is a ferroalloy composed of zirconium (Zr),
silicon (Si), and iron (Fe). It is primarily used as a deoxidizer, grain
refiner, and inoculant in steel and foundry industries. The addition of
zirconium enhances mechanical strength, toughness, and corrosion resistance
in special steel and cast iron applications.
Chemical Composition:
✅ Zirconium (Zr): 15-40% (varies by grade)
✅ Silicon (Si): 40-50%
✅ Iron (Fe): Balance
✅ Carbon (C): ≤ 0.1%
✅ Sulfur (S): ≤ 0.03%
✅ Phosphorus (P): ≤ 0.03%
Key Features:
✅ Powerful Deoxidizer & Inoculant: Improves steel purity by removing
oxygen.
✅ Grain Refiner: Enhances strength, hardness, and wear resistance.
✅ Improves Steel & Cast Iron Properties: Increases toughness and
corrosion resistance.
✅ Available in Various Sizes: Supplied as lumps, granules, or powder.
Applications:
✅ Steel & Foundry Industry: Used in high-strength, low-alloy (HSLA)
steels.
✅ Cast Iron Production: Enhances machinability and surface quality.
✅ Specialty Alloys & Superalloys: Improves mechanical properties in
aerospace and automotive applications.
✅ Welding Electrode Manufacturing: Enhances arc stability and
weldability.
