Stainless steel 310
Stainless Steel Scrap 310 is an austenitic stainless steel primarily composed of high chromium (Cr) and nickel (Ni). It is designed to perform exceptionally well in high-temperature environments due to its excellent oxidation and corrosion resistance properties at temperatures up to 1,100°C (2,010°F).
Chemical Composition (Typical Range):
✅ Chromium (Cr): 24.0% – 26.0%
✅ Nickel (Ni): 19.0% – 22.0%
✅ Manganese (Mn): 2.0% – 3.0%
✅ Silicon (Si): 1.5% – 2.0%
✅ Carbon (C): ≤ 0.25%
✅ Sulfur (S): ≤ 0.03%
✅ Phosphorus (P): ≤ 0.045%
✅ Iron (Fe): Balance
Key Features:
✅ Exceptional High-Temperature Resistance: Can withstand continuous exposure to high temperatures, making it suitable for high-heat applications.
✅ Excellent Corrosion Resistance: Strong resistance to oxidation, sulfidation, and general corrosion, even in aggressive environments.
✅ Good Strength at Elevated Temperatures: Retains high tensile strength and creep resistance even under extreme heat.
✅ Good Weldability & Formability: Easier to weld compared to other high-temperature alloys, with proper techniques to avoid issues in extreme heat.
✅ Non-Magnetic: Typically non-magnetic, although it can become slightly magnetic after cold working.
Applications:
✅ High-Temperature Equipment: Used in furnaces, kilns, and combustion chambers due to its excellent oxidation resistance.
✅ Heat Exchangers: Common in boiler tubes, heat exchangers, and other systems exposed to extreme temperatures.
✅ Aerospace & Aviation: Utilized in engine components and other high-heat parts.
✅ Power Generation: Found in turbines, boilers, and other energy-producing equipment.
✅ Chemical & Petrochemical Industries: Used for reactors, piping, and equipment exposed to high heat in chemical processing.
